The Sunila forest estate on the Baltic Sea is a masterpiece designed by architect Alvar Aalto. Now you have the opportunity to get to know the estate and the architecture from the inside and also to live in the atmosphere of Alvar and Aino Aalto.

Ivalo - near and far. Spend your holiday on a private estate in the middle of the forest and yet close to civilisation. Stay independently in a rustic guest house or book a comfortable room. You can reach Ivalo by car, plane or public transport (train/bus connection).

    A lovely and idyllic apartment, beautifully restored. We slept very well in the fresh bedroom. The furniture and furnishings exude the spirit of Aalto. It was great to get to know the famous terrace house in this way.

The cellulose factory and Sunila housing estate designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto in the 1930s is a world-famous architectural monument and the largest project realised by the famous architect couple. About us

We are Anne and Pirmin, a Finnish-Swiss couple. Since 2010 we have been welcoming friends and visitors to Ivalo, Northern Lapland. Now we have extended our hospitality to Southern Finland, to the Sunila residential area designed by Alvar Aalto, where our carefully renovated apartments are located. Our tour offers a unique combination of Finnish natural beauty and architectural classics, inviting guests to experience both the uniqueness of Northern Finland and the charm of Southern Finland.
